‘High-Tech Home Gym’
BEST UNIQUE SPACE – HOME OF THE YEAR AWARDS, ELECTRONIC HOUSE
or the 2015 Utah Valley Parade of Homes, custom builder Handcrafted Homes, along with interior designer Lindsey Walker, envisioned a home gym with everything. Exposed brick, rubber-matted floors, separate bathroom and steam shower were just a few of the many features in this dream gym.
TYM was selected to design and install the custom integration for the space. His and hers TV’s, plus a shared TV–all tied into the homes’ video distribution system were wall-mounted. A Savant SmartView video tiling system allows up to 9 video sources to be viewed at once on any of the 3 TVs. TruAudio speakers fill the gym with music from the Savant media server.

The homes’ Savant automation system controls everything in the room, inducing the climate controls, lighting, TVs, video tiling, and the home audio. Using Savant Pro App on iOS or Android devices, users can create different scenes for themselves. Each scene can include favorite TV programming, music, lighting settings, and climate control.
This was an exciting project, one where the builder Handcrafted Homes, the interior designer, and TYM’s integrators wanted every possible amenity, including the best in A/V integration and automation. The result was a huge hit among parade attendees.
